Grant Description
On 15 January 2014, the Chinese and Djiboutian governments signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) giving a $16.5 million grant for various development projects in Djibouti.
According to a Xinhua article, the proceeds from the grant agreement were earmarked for the $20 million USD Tadjourah Regional Hospital Construction Project (#72601) and the $10 million USD School of Excellence Construction Project (#59593).
All Africa reported that this ETCA also used to support $40 million USD National Library and Archives Construction Project (#53232), the $3.2 million USD Well Drilling Project (#59259), and a project for the provision of computers and tablets to primary school pupils and pre-school children. The financial breakdown is unknown.
