Grant Description
China provides Mali 50 million yuan interest-free loan as part of economic and technical cooperation agreement (ETCA) On February 24, 2014, Mali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Zaabi Ould Sidi Mohammed, and China’s Ambassador to Mali Cao Zhongming, signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement (ETCA).
The ETCA provided for a 150 million RMB grant (#58991) and a 50 million RMB interest-free loan. This project captures the 50 million RMB interest-free loan portion of the ETCA.
The agreements were signed in the Malian capital, Bamako, on February 24, 2014 by Mali's Minister of Foreign affairs and International Cooperation Zahabi Ould Sidy Mohamed and the Chinese Ambassador to Mali Cao Zhongming.
The funds are meant for the building of a university campus in Kabala (near Bamako) on the Bamako-Segou road, the hydro-electric dam of Gouina and other priority projects that will be identified by the Malian government.

Media reports differ in their reports for the transaction amounts of this ETCA.
