Grant Description

On April 20, 2002, the Chinese Government and the Government of Egypt signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA), which committed RMB 30,000,000 of grant funding for unspecified development projects.

According to the agreement, a future exchange of letters between the two governments would determine how the grant proceeds from the ETCA would be allocated, and the grant would be disbursed through an account established between the Central Bank of Egypt and Bank of China. On July 7, 2002, Egyptian Presidential decision no. 195 (2002) formally accepted the grant.
