Grant Description

COMPLANT to build 47 million USD hospital in Machakos funded by Chinese loan On Dec 26 2018, Chinese state-owned enterprise China National Complete Plant Import & Export (CNCPIEC, COMPLANT) signed a contract with Nairobi-based project owner Lianard Holding for a 47,758,830 USD (Ksh 4.8 billion) healthcare community project "肯尼亚湖畔医疗城项目".

The project aims to build a 13,400 square-meter comprehensive hospital and surrounding apartment building includes 300 apartments inside with a gross floor area of 25,500 square meters. The location is in Machakos, Kenya, 68 kilometers southeast of its capital Nairobi. The contract will become effective after Lianard signs a loan agreement with a Chinese bank.

Details of negotiation on the loan contract is unknown.

📋 Staff Comments

No evidence of Chinese funding yet- however one of the conditions of the commercial contract signed is that the company must secure Chinese bank funding.... may be a project later
