Grant Description

On 25 August 2017 during joint talks between Chinese and Sudanese officials in Khartoum, Vice-Premier of China's State Council Zhang Gaoli announced that the Chinese Government would grant RMB 500 million to the Government of Sudan for unspecified projects. It is unclear whether these funds were ever disbursed.

At the same meeting, the Chinese Government also cancelled $160 million USD of debt for Sudan (see Record ID#57883).
