Grant Description

On 25 August 2017 during joint talks between Chinese and Sudanese officials in Khartoum, Vice-Premier of China's State Council, Zhang Gaoli, announced that the Chinese Government had agreed to cancel $160 million USD of the Government of Sudan’s outstanding obligations.

At the same meeting, the Chinese Government provided an RMB 500 million grant to the Government of Sudan (see Record ID#57885).
