China signs Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement providing interest-free loan of RMB 60 million to Sudan On February 21, 2011, Chinese and Sudanese government officials signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement (ETCA), which included an interest-free loan. According to the report of Tecent Finance, the interest-free loan totals 60 million RMB.
The projects funded through the allocation of this grant are unknown.
On June 9, 2011, the business counselor Hao Hongshe and the Director General of the Financial Market Department of the Central Bank of Sudan Ye Haiya Osman signed the bank account processing rules on the two agreements.
The 60 million dollar agreement followed the 100 million dollar agreement, which was a gift from China for implemenattion of humanitarian aid projects in Darfur states as well reconstruction in eastern Sudan and projects of economic and technical cooperation between the two countries. The agreement also included a grant of RMB 100 million (#57626).
