Grant Description
On September 17, 2018, during the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the Chinese Government agreed to donate RMB 50 million worth of food aid to Burundi.
On the same day, Chinese Ambassador to Burundi Li Changlin and Burundi Foreign Minister Nibijila signed an exchange of letters on China's provision of emergency food assistance to Burundi on behalf of the two governments.
The first 500-ton batch was delivered in February 2019 (see Record ID#57363), and the second, 1080-ton batch was delivered in May 2019 (see Record ID#57398).
