Chinese Government provides RMB 2 million grant for provision of equipment and office supplies to support Burundi's 2010 general election

On November 17, 2009 and November 24, 2009, the Chinese Government and the Government of Burundi signed an exchange of letters for the provision of equipment and office supplies to support Burundi's 2010 general election.

The proceeds from the RMB 2 million grant agreement were used to acquire 129 field motorcycles, 20 photocopiers, 17 generators, 7,500 radio receivers, 18 fax machines, and 7,500 quad registers. SinoLight Corporation was the contractor responsible for project implementation.

These materials were officially handed over to the Burundi's National Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) on April 1, 2010 in Bujumbura.
