Grant Description

On June 18, 2019, China and Rwanda signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA), under which China will provide a grant of US$42.8 million (approximately Frw 38 billion).

The funding will go toward mutually agreed upon development projects in Rwanda, including the rehabilitation of the Prince House Remera-Nyandungu-Masaka road in Kigali (Record ID#57285).

The agreement was signed by Rao Hongwei, Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, and Claudine Uwera, Minister of State in charge of Economic Planning in Rwanda's Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning.
