Grant Description
In September 2018, the Chinese Government signed three cooperation agreements granting a total of USD 29 million to the Government of Sao Tome & Principe for multiple projects in the infrastructure, housing, and education sectors.
The funds were intended to help create a Confucius Institute in collaboration with Sao Tomé and Principe’s public university, as well as to be channeled towards the construction of social housing and various road infrastructures. The funds were also intended to be disbursed over the 2018-2019 period.
It is unclear how much has been disbursed so far.
