Grant Description

In December 2015, the President of Lesotho declared a state of emergency due to the El Nino-induced drought and called on the Chinese government to help mitigate the intensifying food insecurity among Masotho families.

In response, on August 11, 2016, China-Lesotho People-to-People Friendship Action Fund and the Chinese Community and Security Cooperation Center in Lesotho officially donated essentials to 400 families in Leribe. Each parcel contained items such as toilet paper and cooking oil. The value of this donation is unknown.
