USFS provided emergency technical assistance for air quality monitoring during heavy smoke from fires during dry season.
TA included technical assistance to Honduras in measuring and interpreting data, and recommendations to improve interagency coordination among COPECO, COHDEFOR, the Meteorological assosciation and Ministries of Health, Environment, Agriculture. 2.
USFS provided TA with a BAER (Burned area Emergency Response) team to Guanaja to work with local counterparts and provide advice for immediate and longer-term actions to mitigate effects of fires on property, life and water quantity, quality. 3.
USFS provided technical assistance in an ongoing program with COPECO to develop a radiocommunications infrastructure for Honduras for emergency response. Radiocommunications equipment was purchased to help equip COPECO.
