On September 17, 2017, the Economic-Commercial Advisor of the Chinese Embassy in Cuba announced the Chinese government's intention to grant humanitarian relief materials arrived in Cuba. The materials arrived in six successive flights on Air China's Boeing 747 aircraft. The first arrived September 22, 2017.
By October 26, 2017, all of the flights had arrived and a record of delivery was signed by officials.
These humanitarian relief materials were worth 12 million USD total and include 86 tons of essential materials such as generators, water pumps, purifiers, luminaries, folding beds, and other resources.
This aid is in addition to other Hurricane Irma humanitarian supplies provided to Cuba by China, which is captured in linked Record ID#54866 and #85848
