Grant Description

On June 9 and 14, 2011, the Chinese Government and the Government of the Central African Republic signed an exchange of letters for a Borehole Drilling Project.

The purpose of this project was to bring potable water access to 60 villages within three prefectures: Lobaye, Ombella M’poko, and Sangha Mbaere.

China Geo-Engineering Corporation International Ltd (中地国际工程有限公司) was the contractor responsible for implementation. This project began implementation, but was later suspended due to violence and political instability. Then, on June 19, 2015, China’s Ambassador to CAR announced the resumption of project implementation.
