China Provides USD $6.5M Credit Line to Cuba through ETCA In April 2001, the governments of China and Cuba signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement that granted a $6.5 million interest-free credit line during a visit of Chinese President Jiang Zemin to Havana. The loan will be paid over a five year period to April 2006.

The status of the project and exact use of the loan is unclear.
