Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture through Adaptable Technology -Jamaica

The economic downturn stemming from the COVID-19 crisis has exacerbated already high rates of poverty, migration, and food insecurity in this region. The IAF supports community-led approaches to promoting communities' resilience and income generation.

Our grantee Mafoota Agricultural Cooperative Society Limited (Mafoota) is strengthening its operational and productive capacity, partnering with a local credit union to develop a loan fund for members to improve their production, and working to increase farmers' awareness of sustainable agricultural techniques and climate and disaster resilience practices.
