Grant Description
China Eximbank pledges loan for Tamboul Sugar Factory Project On 28 January, 2015, the China Eximbank signed a framework agreement with the Government of Sudan in which it agreed to finance multiple projects in Sudan, including the Tamboul Sugar Factory Project.
A 2016 budget report from Sudan’s Ministry of Finance indicates that the construction of the factory was financed with a 195.3 million Sudanese pound foreign loan in addition to local loans worth 6.96 million Sudanese pounds. It is unclear whether the foreign loan was actually from China Eximbank.
China GDE signed a construction design contract for the Tamboul Sugar Factory on 10 September, 2012. It is unclear whether they actually carried out this project.

The Chinese project title is 苏丹汤布尔糖联建设项目 or 署汤布尔糖联项目.AidData failed to find evidence of China Eximbank signing a loan agreement so the status is coded as pledge for now.
