Grant Description

FUNTA- El SalvadorYoung people living in El Salvador, especially young men from marginalized neighborhoods and communities, face discrimination, exclusion, food insecurity, and pressures to join violent gangs. This limits them from contributing to positive social change for their country and leads many to migrate.

The IAF supports activities that enhance peace and security, such as youth development.

Our grantee Fundacin Tacuzcalco (FUNTA) promotes a multi-pronged approach to increasing young people's civic participation in the municipalities of San Julian, Caluco, Nahuilingo and Sonsonate.

FUNTA will promote youth leadership in local organizations, strengthen youth participation in sustainable agriculture through training, and support youth-led projects through technical assistance and access to materials and supplies. This grant is part of the IAF's efforts to address the root causes of irregular migration in Central America.
