According to the DRC Aid Management Platform, the Chinese government provided $100,000 to rehabilitate dikes in the Kingabwa Rice Fields. The French project name is Réfection des digues du chantier rizicole de Kingabwa.
In "Summary of SRI in Democratic Republic of the Congo," it was reported that the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method, used to increase productivity of irrigated rice, were introduced by Chinese technicians in 2007-2008 in rice growing areas around Kinshasa, Mbandaka, Kikwit, Mbanza-Ngungu, and Kisangani.
It is likely that these rehabilitation works took place around that period of time. This project is completed.
