Grant Description

On November 28, 2014, the Chinese Government announced that it would provide a MAD 20 million grant to the Government of Morocco for the supply of teaching materials to the Mohammed VI School of Training in Building and Public Works (MSTBPW) in Settat. Ultimately, the Chinese Government provided MAD 53,964,000 in grant funding for the technical and vocational school.

The school was inaugurated on January 27, 2016, with the equipment financed by this Chinese Government grant in place.

The construction of the Mohammed VI School of Training in Building and Public Works was built by a partnership between Morocco's Ministry of Equipment, Transport and Logistics, Morocco's Ministry of National Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy, Morocco's Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, the Regional Council of Casablanca-Settat, the Settat Provincial Council, the Office of Professional Training and Work Promotion (OFPPT), Morocco's National Federation of Building and Public Works (FNBTP), the OCP Foundation, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the French Development Agency (AFD), and the Volvo Group at a cost of MAD 312.5 million.

It was intended to provide training in construction-related skills to young people from Morocco and Africa.
