Grant Description

The economic downturn stemming from the COVID-19 crisis is exacerbating already severe trends of poverty migration and food insecurity in Mexico especially for those in Indigenous communities.

The IAF supports community-led solutions that expand economic opportunity and inclusion of historically marginalized groups.

Our grantee Magueyal Sujeto y Comunidad A.C. (Magueyal) collaborates with Hahu Indigenous farmers to improve the food security and income of farming families in nine communities in the dry state of Hidalgo.

Magueyal is expanding participatory assessments leadership training for sustainable agriculture promoters sustainable vegetable and small livestock production and improved water capture for sustainable agriculture.
