Indigenous women journalists promote citizenship through community based media

Several grassroots organizations in Central America face challenges to manage their community-based media outlets.

Asociacin Sobrevivencia Cultural (ASC) promotes best practices to run community-based media outlets and combines best practices to develop a regional strategic plan that strengthens the Central American community-based media movement. At the IAF we support community-led solutions to strengthen governance in Guatemala.

ASC's activities strengthen excluded communities so they can improve their living conditions and participate equally in a nation's political economic and social life. This grant is part of the IAF's efforts to address the root causes of irregular migration in Central America.
