Grant Description

Alpaca herders in the rural highlands of Ayacucho and Cusco face a low standard of living and have few opportunities to increase income with this type of work.

Cooperativa de Produccin y Servicios Especiales de los Productores de Camlidos Andinos (COOPECAN) provides technical assistance to improve alpaca herds and increase the quality and quantity of wool fiber while providing training in leadership skills to cooperative members.
