Cultivating peace through family, farmer and community agriculture

Many farmers in Colombia have few options for marketing their agricultural products.

Corporacin Buen Ambiente (Corambiente) is working with more than 80 organizations to create a national alliance of smallholder producers and consumers strengthening the production, marketing and consumption of environmentally friendly foods. At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in Colombia.

Corambiente's activities promote smallholder agriculture and food production to enhance food security and ensure meaningful opportunities for communities to thrive.

This grant is part of our broader initiative that supports grassroots organizations to build a just and lasting peace in Colombia.

Amendment FY23:This amendment provides Corambiente with an additional $82,165 and 12 months to extend project activities to an additional 50 women producers and 100 young people to meet demand at farmers markets and ensure generational continuity of rural livelihoods.

As part of the amendment, Corambiente is mobilizing an additional $36,713 in counterpart resources to the grant agreement.
