Sustainable Agriculture & Natural Resource Management in Yauyupe

Rural communities in drought prone regions of Honduras struggle to provide sufficient food for their families and protect natural resources they depend on.

Grupo Ginopeo Ambientalista (Grupo Guia) promotes sustainable farming, conservation and improved sanitation with families, communities, local schools and municipalities to improve food security, health and nutrition and protect natural resources in the Yauyupe and Maraita Municipalities, reducing factors that contribute to migration.

At the IAF, we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in Honduras.

Grupo Guias activities promote smallholder agriculture and food production to enhance food security and ensure meaningful opportunities for communities to thrive. This grant is part of the IAF's efforts to address the root causes of irregular migration in Central America.
