Grant Description

FAS/ICD and the U.S. Codex Office/Office of the Administrator/Food Safety and Inspection Service/U.S.. Department of Agriculture cooperate to implement outreach activities that support U.S. trade interests. The U.S. Codex Office is responsible for overall policy and coordination of U.S. Codex activities.

These activities include fostering international cooperation on food safety with foreign delegates to the Codex Alimentarius Commission, including the World Health Organization, Pan American Health Organization and other United Nations programs to assure that transience issues do not pose a barrier to appropriate SPS measures.

Workshop presentations and activities will support these strategic objectives.
