Grant Description

Pride in Action (PIA) will open a resource center for LGBT university students and young people between the ages of 16 and 30, which will serve as a base for its operations and will offer health services, support, counseling and information on issues of interest to this demographic group. The center will also be an incubator for budding activists and LGBT initiatives.

PIA will further develop its outdoor leadership program, explore ways to set up for-profit venture and draft a plan toward financial independence.

The project will directly benefit 600 young Jamaicans and will indirectly reach several thousand members of their families as well as allies and other LGBT individuals.
