CooperAccin will work with 15 district municipalities in the provinces of Barranca and Huaura in the north of the Lima region and with various nongovernmental organizations and producer groups on local development plans and their respective participatory budgets.

The grantee will compile an integrated data base for both provinces and create an ecological economic zone to demonstrate how the participatory process can guide sustainable development in a specific geographic area.

To consolidate the participatory budgeting processes begun with the IAF's support, additional funds will allow CooperAccin to continue its training and technical assistance for representatives of government and civil society.
