Grant Description

Minga Peru will train 1,000 indigenous women from 45 communities in the Loreto region in the Amazon Rainforest with the goal of advancing their socioeconomic development and improving their participation in public life. Its 200 new radio programs and rebroadcasts of 430 programs will reach 100,000 listeners every week.

Minga Per also organized the participation of three grantee organizations in a celebration of the diversity of Peru's indigenous communities and their contributions to grassroots development held at the National Museum of the American Indian in July.
