Grant Description

China Pledges Credit Lines up to $10 Billion USD to Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Countries In March 2016, China pledged up to $10 billion USD in credit lines to five countries along the Mekong River -- Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam -- to fund infrastructure and industrial projects. These countries make up the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC).

Half of the credit line will be used for cooperation in industrial production between China and the five recipient countries. The other half will be provided to buyers to help China's exports. The offer was made at the "Shared River, Shared Future" meeting of the LMC in Sanya, Hainan Province.
