Grant Description

In February 2016, China's National Energy Administration and Myanmar's Ministry of Electric Power signed a power supplies assistance agreement.

On 25 March 2016, China donated the first batch of power supplies to Myanmar in response to severe floods in the country.

This was the first of three batches of power supplies from 8 Chinese companies that China donated to Myanmar, with a total worth of 36 million RMB. The first batch of supplies was worth 5 million RMB.

The donated goods were handed over by Chinese ambassador Hong Liang to Myanmar Minister of Electric Power U Khin Maung Soe. The remaining batches would arrive in Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw in April 2016 and June 2016.
