AMIR, comprised of indigenous women from rural areas of the municipalities of Intibuc and San Francisco de Opalaca, will train its members in farming methods compatible with the responsible use of the environment and in effective approaches to marketing the fruit and jam that they process and will improve its storage facilities.
The result should be a more reliable food supply, better use of natural resources and improved household income. Some 300 Hondurans will benefit directly and another 3,000 indirectly.
