Smallholder farmers in El Salvador face drought and other challenges to securing better nutrition and food security for their families and thereby help reduce the possibility of migration.

Mdicos por Derecho a la Salud (MDS) trains families with low-weight children to improve the productivity and diversity of their crops and enhance their diets. At the IAF we support community-led solutions to expand economic opportunity in Latin America and the Caribbean.

MDS's activities support smallholder agriculture and food production to enhance food security and ensure meaningful opportunities for communities to thrive. This grant is part of the IAF's efforts to address the root causes of irregular migration in Central America.
