Grant Description

Elimination of lymphatic filariasis and elimination and control of other neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in a effort to improve the quality and coverage of local programs. The purpose of this program is to prevent disease, disability and death by infectious diseases.

The specific objectives may include, but are not limited to: strengthening public health fundamentals; increasing capacity to prevent disease, disability and death; infectious disease surveillance; laboratory detection; epidemiologic investigation and public health response; expansion of public health and clinical laboratories in disease control and prevention; workforce development and training to sustain and strengthen public health practice; and increase community and individual engagement in disease prevention efforts; strengthen global capacity to detect and respond to outbreaks with the potential to cross borders.
