Grant Description

On March 24, 2009, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun delivered humanitarian aid for refugees in the DRC worth RMB 4 million. The handover agreement was signed between Zhai and his DR Congolese counterpart Ignace Gata Mavita.

According to the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Aid Management Platform (AMP), in 2009 the Chinese Government committed $58,586.60 of grant funding for a project called "Aide humanitaire urgente pour les réfugiés à l'Est de la RDC,” which was to take place in the Bas Uele, Haut Uele, Ituri, and Tshopo regions of the country.

As of July 2019, $58,565.15 of grant funding had been disbursed in support of this project. It is likely that this AMP record refers to the same project. This project is completed.
