Grant Description

In the summer through the late fall of 2008, SAMHSA hosted a three-part Conference on Trauma and Behavioral Health Services that involved SAMHSA staff, US providers, and Iraqi behavioral health experts.

The product of this consultation will be a monograph of key findings and implications for service delivery and training/technical assistance from across a diverse set of collaborative teams of US and Iraqi experts.

The monograph will be shared with key constituents working with related populations, including State mental health and substance abuse commissioners, participants at SAMHSA's March 2008 Summit on Arab-American and Muslim-American Behavioral Health and The Road Home: SAMHSA's National Conference on the Behavioral Health Needs of Returning Veterans, and grantees working with trauma survivors including refugees, veterans, and children.
