The aim of this pilot study is to determine the levels of perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) in 35 people who had consumed fish from the polluted Lake Mjosa and to compare these levels with the levels of PFCs in other human populations around the world.
The levels of PFCs in these Norwegian samples will be compared with levels of these compounds in the general U.S. population and in other human populations worldwide.
The results from this pilot may provide insight into the hypothesis that fish consumption may be a source of dietary exposure to PFCs as well as to allow for a comparison of levels of PFCs among different countries.
