Chinese Government commits grant funding — via ETCA — for construction of educational facilities and Confucius Institute building (Linked to Record ID#66545, #66533, #42923, #85154, #66762)

On December 28, 2015, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Macedonia Wen Zhenshun and Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Besimi signed two Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreements (ETCAs), which committed grant funding for projects of interest to both countries.

The preparation and implementation of these projects was to be implemented in coordination between the Secretariat for European Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and the Office of Economic and Trade of the Embassy of the PRC in the country.

With these grant proceeds and grant proceeds already committed in previous years, the two governments planned to fund the construction of new primary schools in the municipalities of Gazi Baba (see Record ID#66545) and Tetovo (see Record ID#66533), the construction of two new kindergartens in the municipalities of Cair and Kisela Voda (see Record ID#42923), the construction of a facility at the Confucius Institute in Skopje (see Record ID#85154), and the E-Education Project (see Record ID#66762).
