Grant Description
On April 12, 2007, the Chinese Government and the Government of Ukraine signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA), which committed RMB 20 million (about $2.5 million USD) for unspecified purposes. The ETCA was signed in Kyiv in two copies, each containing the texts in the Ukrainian, Chinese and Russian languages.
After the signing ceremony, Deputy Economy Minister Valeriy Pyatnitsky announced that the funds might be used for equipping schools and/or holding cultural programs.
At least some of the grant proceeds from the ETCA were used to provide computers to Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (see Record ID#66362).
