Grant Description
On January 23, 2014, Chinese Ambassador to Albania, Ye Hau, and Albanian Minister of Economy, Trade, and Entrepreneurship, Arben Ahmetaj signed an economic cooperation and technical agreement (ETCA), which formally committed RMB 10,000,000 of grant funding to the Government of Albania for unspecified projects in education, science, agriculture, and technology.
At the time of signing it was agreed that a subsequent agreement would determine which project or projects would benefit from the RMB 10,000,000 grant.
Then, on June 6, 2016, Albanian Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, and Entrepreneurship Ervin Mete, and Chinese Ambassador, Jiang Yu, signed another agreement, allocating the grant for the acquisition of agricultural equipment and facilities.
The proceeds may have gone to the Agricultural Machinery Cooperative Demonstration Center Project (captured in Record ID#66152).
