Grant Description

On April 28th, 2006, the Chinese government pledged to donate more than $6 million of aid to Belarus for alleviating the continued Chernobyl aftermath. The first shipment is projected to be worth around $2.5 million. It would include goods and items the government of Belarus needs in contaminated areas.

The second shipment is said to comprise of equipment for hospitals and schools.

Additionally, the Chinese embassy has recently donated financial aid for people with disabilities due to the Chernobyl incident. The status of the aid is unknown.
