In August 2006, the Department of Tāoga Niue was established as the key agency responsible for the promotion, preservation, and the overall coordination of all aspects that represent Tāoga Niue. The Chinese government provided funding for the Tāoga Niue government building. It is unclear how much was spent on the construction.
