Grant Description

The primary beneficiaries of the grant will be the 130 members of Afao-Ekiti Ileriayo Cooperative Multipurpose Society. Although the applicant mentioned that increased activities through the grant will enable more people to join. The cooperative intends to expand their garri business and utilize the cassava waste into starch and feed production.

The monies will be used for training, procurement of farm inputs, purchase of farm machineries and equipment, purchase of processing equipment and purchase of vehicle. The primary focus will be cassava production and processing.

The cooperative plans to build their capacities in best agronomy practices on cassava cultivation and modernized method of cassava processing. They also intend to improve their financial management and organizational capacities.

Similarly, they want to take an advantage of wider market opportunities through training on business development and quality control to enable them to export their product. The grant will improve the cooperative members standard of living.
