Nyampinga - Increased coffee productivity (KOPENYA)

Nyampinga Cooperative is an almost all-women cooperative growing coffee in Nyaruguru District of the Southern Province of Rwanda. The cooperative is made up of 235 members, of whom 222 female.

They produce and process a coffee of high quality, highly appreciated by their foreign buyers; part of their green coffee is roasted for the local market and is one of the top quality coffees sold at Question Coffee in Kigali, a very popular niche market.

Nyampinga wish to set up a nursery so as to expand their plantations; they are targeting another 1,500 farmers, majority women. They also wish to set up a coffee shop in the highly religious touristic site of nearby Kibeho.
