Grant Description

On February 20, 2003, China offered the Government of Azerbaijan a 5 million yuan grant (approximately $604,600 USD or AzM 2958.6 million) towards solving the country's social problems.

The initiative was proposed at a meeting for bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Development of the People's Republic of China.

The grant may be used for goods or services, but the Government of Azerbaijan must submit its proposals for the use of the grant, according to Azer-Press.
