Grant Description

On March 25, 2005, Chinese oil company CNPC-Aktobemunaygaz (the Kazakh subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation, CNPC) signed a memorendum of cooperation and pledged to allocate USD $300K for the development of rural infrastructure within the region of Aktobe oblast by the agro-food program.

In addition, the company took upon itself the obligation to facilitate the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the Aktobe region.

For this purpose "CNPC-Aktobemunaygaz" is ready to conclude a contract with local enterprises for the supply of equipment in Kazakhstan; to receive devices, tools, special clothes, food products, etc., "adhering to the principle of economic reciprocity." The same company pledged another $1 million to Aktobe region (see Record ID#40704)
