Grant Description

On March 12, 2003, as part of a humanitarian relief package, China sent Tajikistan RMB 15 million worth of food aid.

The food aid was intended to help alleviate Tajikistan's food issues, as the country is not self-sufficient in food production. The food aid included 2,340 tons of sugar, 1,200 tons of rice, and 320 tons of soybean.
