On January 14, 2002, China provided humanitarian aid worth 5m yuan [about 605,000 dollars] to Kazakhstan.
The head of a Chinese delegation, a member of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Ismail Amat, talked about the aid during a meeting with Kazakh Prime Minister Kasymzhomart Tokayey - the meeting reflected a symbolic 10th anniversary of a strong bilateral relationship between both countries.
The allocated aid was directed to the needy in Kazakhstan.
China to give Kazakhstan 5m yuan in aid. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
