Grant Description

In 2002, during a high-level state visit and talks, China offered Kazakhstan a 15 million RMB grant for the implementation of various development-related projects, with specifics unknown but sectors pertaining to railway, electricity and power generation, etc. The money was granted to the Kyrgyzstan government, who then distributed the aid accordingly.

It appears that 5 million RMB is to be used for work on the railway between China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, 5 million RMB will be used for the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Corporation, 2 million RMB will be used to overhaul the Government House, another 2 million will be used to purchase special equipment for the National Security Service, and the last 1 million RMB will be used to process agricultural produce.
